Information you choose to provide

If you contact us, we receive the information contained in your message, such as your email address, name and enquiry. The website contact form prepares the message in your own email application; it does not save the form entry on our server. We use messages we receive to respond and maintain necessary correspondence.

If you request a free guide, we send your email address to Resend, our email delivery provider, to deliver the guide and add the address to our subscriber list for occasional Compact Living Lab emails. You can unsubscribe from future updates using the link included in those emails or contact us to request removal.

If you subscribe to the monthly letter, we send your email address to Resend to maintain the subscriber list, send a confirmation and deliver future letters. Each letter will include an unsubscribe option.

If you submit a reader story, we send the details and any attached photos to our private editorial inbox through Resend. We use them to review the submission and contact you about possible editorial use. A submission is not published automatically, does not subscribe you to the newsletter and does not guarantee publication. We will ask before publishing your story or photos.

Technical information

Our hosting provider may process basic technical information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp and error or security logs.

Analytics and cookies

We do not currently run advertising cookies or a behavioral advertising system on this site. If we introduce analytics, advertising or newsletter technology that changes how information is collected, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated first.

Affiliate links and external websites

Links may take you to independent retailers or other websites. Those services operate under their own privacy policies and may record that you arrived through an affiliate link.

Retention and choices

We keep correspondence, guide-delivery records, subscriber details and story submissions only as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, delivery, editorial review, troubleshooting, subscriber management, recordkeeping or legal obligations. You may ask about, correct or request deletion of personal information you have sent directly to us, subject to applicable requirements.
